Clubs & Organizations

​Student clubs allow individuals to discover and pursue special interests, abilities and skills, and to assume leadership roles in the community. Students interested in joining a student club or forming a new one should contact either the club advisor listed or the Office of Student Life (OSL). The OSL is located in Room D-104, first floor of the campus Student Center building, and is reachable at (972) 860-8233. All student clubs must have the recognition of the OSL. Currently recognized clubs include:

African American Student Association

(AASA)

Purpose: To exemplify the importance and

excellence of the Black/African American

heritage and desire to bring forth unity

amongst the student body and all

organizations as a whole.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Purpose: To participate in self-government

through a Democratic process, practice the

fundamentals of citizenship and civic

responsibility, develop qualities of

leadership, and promote an intellectual

climate for exchange of ideas and ideals.

Baptist Student Ministries

Purpose: To offer support, encouragement,

and hope to students & staff through

discussion and study of the scriptures.

Poetry- Literary Club

Purpose: To increase/promote literary

awareness of and an appreciation for various

literary genres. To express reality through

written and spoken word.

Brother 2 Brother

Purpose: To bring young men together for

purpose and strength. For the retention of

male students

Pottery Club

Purpose: Providing an environment for

Students who enjoy creating with their

hands.

Christian Student Union (CSU)

Purpose: To lead students to personal faith

in Jesus Christ, to help them grow as

disciples and to equip them for a life of

ministry to others.

Rising Star Students

Purpose: To allow Rising Star students to

get to know each other and do service

projects.

Commercial Music Association

Purpose: To cultivate the college

community and neighboring society by

sharing, promoting, and developing

appreciation for all genres of music.

Sociology Club

Purpose: To bring Sociology to CVC in a

fun and educational networking environment

for all students.

Dance/Spirit Squad

Purpose: To get students more involved in

school and athletic events.

Students for Physics, Astronomy.

Chemistry, Engineering (SPACE)

Purpose: To explore new discovers in

physical sciences, technology, and

engineering. Exchanging ideas in an open

and non-threating environment.

Early College Dance Club

Purpose: To entertain the student body, and

provide preparation for those on the team

who wish to partake in performing arts,

management, leadership, and

communicative occupations in the future.

STEM- Science Technology Engineering

Mathematics

Purpose: To create a learning environment

for those interested in STEM, encourage

innovative and independent thinking, and

sharpen respective STEM skills.

Family Music Theatre Club

Purpose: To support the Family Music

Theatre Program, for the community.

Campus and the student enrichment through

musical theater.

Student Ambassadors

Purpose: Students selected to serve, as

Ambassadors will represent CVC during

high school outreach, campus tours, official

college functions, community activities,

conferences, new student orientation and

special campus events.

Gay Straight Alliance

Purpose: Provides a safe place for students,

faculty and staff to meet, support each other,

and talk about issues related to sexual

orientation, gender identity and expression,

and work to end homophobia and

transphobia.

Student Government Association (SGA)

Purpose: To serve and voice the needs of

the students by acting as a liaison between

the student body and the

leaders in their communities.

Purpose: To examine world cultures,

economies, history & future, and to travel

Green Club

Purpose: To spread awareness of
