Your military career classification code, depending on your branch of U.S. service, determines what study programs you'll be eligible to get college credit for based on your military experience.
The Army and Marines use a nine-digit Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) code; the Air Force uses Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSC). The Navy uses naval ratings and designators along with Navy Enlisted Classifications (NEC) and the Coast Guard a system similar to the Navy’s, dividing occupational specialties into groups like aviation and engineering.
