Water Conference Offers DCCCD Discount

This article appeared in a September 2016 issue of the student newsletter.

The population of the DFW metroplex is expected to double by 2060. We're talking around 15 million residents. For comparison, the state of Texas currently has 27 million residents.

With recent drought, weather extremes and increasing threats to our state's water supplies – both man-made and natural – will DFW have enough water as we continue to grow?

Seeking Solutions

On Saturday, Sept. 17, "DFW: Thirsting for Our Water Future" will be held at the Richardson Civic Center from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. The event will provide a foundation for understanding the current state of our water supplies and address the challenges we face in maintaining those water resources (such as drought, invasive species and more). The event will also highlight some of the cutting-edge technologies that could help us meet our water needs, as well as offer practical solutions for homeowners to save water and save money.

The DCCCD Discount

DCCCD employees and students can register for the one-day conference for $20 through Sept. 10, 2016 (lunch included). Regular registration is $50; however, a $35 registration is currently available through a limited-time promotion.
