Award Letter Information and Instructions

This page provides general information you should know as a financial aid award recipient. It also notes deadlines and restrictions regarding your eligibility for financial aid.

If you have not yet accepted your awards on the official award notification, your financial aid will not transmit to your DCCCD student account. To accept your awards, go to eConnect. If you have not been awarded, please log in to eConnect and click on “FA Missing Information Letter.”  The FA Missing Information Letter will provide information for items you still need to complete so you can be awarded.

If you are not interested in receiving financial aid at Dallas County Community College District, please decline your awards on the official award notification on your eConnect account.

Costs of Attendance

Review this page to help you budget for the upcoming year. As a reminder, each semester, institutions are required to adjust financial aid based on your enrollment status and costs of attendance. These adjustments could change your financial aid award and account status.

You can view adjustments to your account on eConnect by logging in and clicking on “Tuition Account Summary.” You are responsible for reviewing your account to see if you owe any money.

Types of Aid

Learn about the various types of aid: gift aid, work-study, Direct Loans, emergency assistance, scholarships and more.

Enrollment

The number of scheduled class hours per semester, certification of your attendance in class and attending other institutions can all impact your eligibility.

Courses/Credit Hours Not Eligible for Financial Aid

Find out which courses/credit hours are not eligible for financial aid.

Disbursement and Refunds

There are a few parts to disbursements and refunds. Understand what you need to do and how the process works by visiting the Disbursements and Refunds page, and be sure to review the disbursement schedule too.

If you are eligible for a refund, it can only be sent to you after you accept your award and your aid has been transmitted to your tuition account summary. All refunds to financial aid students are made through eRefunds.

Repaying Financial Aid

If you’re receiving financial aid grants or loans, you must attend your classes. Don’t drop or stop attending any class without consulting the Financial Aid Office. Changes in your enrollment level or failing grades may require you to repay federal financial aid funds.
