DCCCD Style Guide and Graphic Standards

The DCCCD Style Guide and Graphic Standards (PDF - 2.42MB) are designed to strengthen DCCCD's overall brand, while enabling each college to reflect its own personality. Developing a common visual identity is an essential step in reinforcing our image in the community. Using style standards ensures that our external publications are consistent, professional and targeted to our audiences.

All DCCCD employees who publish mass communications will follow the DCCCD Style Guide and Graphic Standards. This group includes the colleges, District Office and District Service Center.

The District Style Guide applies to mass communications (as identified by each college). It does not apply to instructional materials, Starlink or eConnect. The Catalog Group and the Communication Management Committee will follow the District Style Guide except when an overriding authority prevails (WECM, SACS, etc.).

The Style Guide Addendum lists information that has been added to the DCCCD Style Guide and Graphic Standards since its last full revision. This information will be incorporated in the next edition but is provided here for employees' reference in the meantime.

The DCCCD Graphic Standards must be applied to all external communications, including:

  • Advertisements
  • Annual reports
  • Billboards
  • Brochures
  • Newspaper inserts
  • Online banners/flyers/emails
  • Online class schedules
  • Posters
  • Quick copy flyers/brochures
  • Websites
