eCampus Training. Topic: Respondus LockDown Browser.
Learning Objectives — Students will learn the following: Know how to use the Respondus Lockdown Browser.
The Respondus LockDown Browser is a special web browser that locks the testing environment in eCampus.
If the instructor requires that a test be taken in the LockDown Browser, to take the test you will have to: One, download and install the Respondus LockDown Browser; Two, log in to eCampus using the Respondus LockDown Browser.
What happens if you do not use the Lockdown Browser?
Color Theory Test Two requires the Respondus LockDown Browser.
If you select the test, e.g., Color Theory Test Two, using a regular browser, on the next page you will see a reminder telling you, “Requires Respondus LockDown Browser. Click Cancel to go back.”
You will not be allowed to take the test from a browser other than the LockDown Browser.
If you select a regular browser, you will see: “Instructions Click Begin to start Color Theory Test Two - Requires Respondus LockDown Browser.
Click Cancel to go back. If you select Begin, you will see another warning on the next page, telling you, "This assessment requires that you use Respondus LockDown Browser. Start Respondus LockDown Browser and navigate back to this assessment to continue."
Reminder to use the LockDown browser: "This assessment requires that you use Respondus LockDown Browser. Start Respondus LockDown Browser and navigate back to this assessment to continue.”
Simply stated, you will have to log in to eCampus using the LockDown Browser to take the test.
If you are using Internet Explorer to download the LockDown Browser, you might get the following message: "Only secure content is displayed."
Then click Show all content.
If you do not select Show all content, you will not be able to download the LockDown Browser.
Open a new browser so you can select Show all content when you try again.
Select Install Now.
Select Run to Open File.
Start installing Respondus by selecting Click to Install.
Another window will ask, “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?”
Choose a language.
Accept the terms of the license agreement.
Select Finish to close the Lockdown Browser page.
Double-click the LockDown Browser on the desktop The eCampus LockDown Browser page.
Log in to eCampus to take your tests that require the LockDown Browser.
