Control Room A
Cedar Valley college can start you on a successful career track.
Whether your interest is in pursuing a career as a recording engineer or
you simply want to take a few courses, CVC will provide you with the
technical and music skills necessary in the recording field.
Recording Labs at Cedar Valley are small with a large percentage of
"one-on-one" instruction. Students enrolled in the Associate degree
program typically will engineer three major recording projects from the
beginning to the end of the program with approximately 30 hours of
studio time per project.
There will always be a need for trained, competent professionals in
almost any market, and this is especially true for sound and recording
engineers in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Commercials, film, live
sound, broadcasting and multi-media industrial shows are all areas
needing recording engineers who can pull together the creative and
technical sides of a production.
Cedar Valley College is proud to announce the outfitting of a brand
new Studio A tracking and mixing facility. With plans for the new room
started in the fall of 2009, we are happy to report that all of our
Audio IV students are recording their final projects in the new studio
which came online just before Spring 2011 began. Of particular interest
are our new 24' x 25' control room/instructional area, nearly twice the
size of our old Studio A, and our new Solid State Logic AWS900 SE+.
That's right folks, CVC has an SSL! After 33 years of offering
Recording Technology instruction, the first program of its kind in the
state, this new flagship recording studio is a point of immense pride
and excitement for our students, faculty and staff alike. Cedar Valley
College now offers four studios available for instruction, lab work and
various stages of a recording project, all with Mac Pro Dual Quad Core
computers and industry standard Avid Pro Tools recording/editing software. See below for a comprehensive equipment list.
