Adjunct FacultyCedar Valley College
Adjunct faculty member Rodney Taylor has been teaching diesel and automotive classes at Cedar Valley College since 2005. He works full time as management coordinator for Prevost, a Canadian bus manufacturer with a service center in the D/FW metroplex.
He went through the automotive program at Lincoln College of Technology, but the college didn’t offer a degree program, so he went to Cedar Valley College to earn his Automotive Technology associate degree with two specialty certifications. He then transferred to Dallas Baptist University to earn a bachelor’s degree in business.
His first job in the field was as a mechanic at Ryder Truck Rental. He was promoted to second shift leader for end service at Ryder, then worked as a Mazda technician in a dealership and a manager for Tune-Up Masters. He also worked as a mechanic and shop foreman for the city of Dallas’ Equipment and Building Services Department.
He holds master automotive certification from ASE and has held master diesel certification. From 2004-2006, he served on the City Council of Balch Springs and currently serves on the city’s Economic Development Board.
