Rachel Hardison has more than 10 years experience working with animals in a variety of settings including ranch work, equine program leadership and veterinary care. She has served as technician and billing assistant for a busy equine surgical hospital; kennel technician and supervisor; and has performed routine lab work and other diagnostic procedures.
As a farm technician and kennel manager for Cedar Valley’s Vet Tech program, she supervises up to 25 students at a time in weekly kennel duties, monitors kenneled animals for illness and maintains yearly vaccinations and monthly preventive care, among other duties.
Previous experience includes serving as a vet tech and receptionist at Lone Star Park Equine Hospital in Grand Prairie; as a ranch hand for private ranches in Weatherford and Stephenville, Texas; and as a summer camp staff member working with horses in Texas and Colorado.
She holds an Associate of Arts degree from Weatherford College and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley, with certificates in Small Animal and Large Animal Assisting. She has volunteered at Prairie Paws, Grand Prairie’s animal shelter; Jubilee Park Recreation Center in Dallas; and for a veterinarian providing feline sterilization and release.
