Peggy Stack Gilbert, LVT, CVT

Instructional Specialist

Peggy has been a licensed veterinary technician since 1982 and began working at Cedar Valley in May 2008. She attended the University of Miami and the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in biology and pre-med, before moving to Pennsylvania. She worked as a veterinary technician there for six years before taking the VTNE the first time it was offered. She is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Texas. She works part time at a hospital in Dallas and teaches at Cedar Valley. 

In addition to being a technical supervisor at hospitals in Pennsylvania, Peggy developed, coordinated and taught a program for veterinary assistants at Reading Area Community College in Reading, Pennsylvania, for four years. She also worked at a veterinary hospital that became affiliated with Veterinary Centers of America (VCA) and served as a regional trainer of anesthesia and various laboratory techniques. A founding member of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician Association (PVTA), she was named Pennsylvania Veterinary Technician of the year in 2004.
