Kathleen E. Terrell

Kathy Terrell is co-owner of Professional Real Estate Programs And Related Education (PREPARE) with her husband, Tom. She has held her real estate broker license since 1978 and specializes in exclusive buyer representation.

She created and for 10 years administered the real estate pre- and post-licensing program at the University of Texas at Arlington with her husband, offering 30-hour courses in real estate subjects. For 15 years, she was the director of educational services for the Greater Dallas Association of Realtors (now MetroTex Association of Realtors), creating education programs for the more than 9,000-member organization. During that time, she received awards including the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR) Educator of the Year; TAR’s Education Program of the Year; the National Association of Realtors (NAR) International Program of the Year; Women’s Council of Realtors Outstanding Contributions and Service to Real Estate; and the Arlington Board of Realtors Affiliate of the Year.

Terrell is the co-author of Texas Real Estate Principles I & II and a companion 600+PowerPoint training presentation used for pre-licensing real estate courses in Texas. She has been approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) to teach pre-licensing and Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) courses designed for post-licensing requirements, including the TREC Legal and Ethics Update course.

She is a life member, past board of directors member and past president of the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association (TRETA) and was the chair of the TRETA State Convention for two consecutive years. She assisted in the creation of the certified real estate instructor (CREI) designation program for TRETA and earned the (CREI) designation.
