From the flooring materials to the way the school is cleaned and the outdoor surfaces on which the children play, every detail was considered for the children who interact with their environment. The students have a science based curriculum, which incorporates the building as a teaching tool.

Cathy Redson is director of sales for Native, a green construction firm that specializes in renewable energy solutions based in Austin. And she is the president of SolPower People, a global PV industry market development and international solar training organization. She is a professional educator with more than 20 years in instruction and educational leadership and a solar PV professional with experience training installers and technical sales associates, and creating curricula. She holds a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a M.S. in Vocational Industrial Education from Florida International University in addition to numerous solar industry certifications.

Prior to joining the public policy and government affairs team, Robert served as the director of energy and climate change for three years in PepsiCo’s global operations, developing and implementing energy and carbon reduction strategies. Robert also served as a corporate environmental manager at Frito-Lay North America (a Division of PepsiCo) for six years. Before joining PepsiCo, Robert served in various governmental roles for what is now the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and has held several environmental and sustainability consulting roles.

Dr. Busche earned his BS and his MS in geology from the University of Illinois and the University of Hawaii, respectively. His PhD in terrestrial and extra terrestrial geochemistry was completed at the University of New Mexico. Fred has worked for Westinghouse, Shell Oil, US EPA and IBM and was chair of the Department of Geography/Cartography at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He teaches as an adjunct professor at Brookhaven College and is CEO of WinTechGeo, LLC, a company specializing in microbiologically enhanced oil recovery. Dr. Busche holds 13 patents ranging from expert systems to computer analysis of organic materials to medical instrumentation.
