Cedar Valley College invites the community to attend its annual Health Fair from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at its Lancaster campus, 3030 N. Dallas Avenue. The following providers have been confirmed for free services:
The activities will take place mainly in the upper levels of the A, B and C buildings on campus. Attendees can park in the S1 or S2 parking lots, which are the closest to the A Building entrance which is past the flagpoles.
"This a great opportunity to come out to Cedar Valley on March 23 and take advantage of the free health services being offered," said Mari Brock, the college's nurse who oversees the CVC Health Center.
Something new this year is CVC's involvement in the It's Time Texas Community Challenge presented by H-E-B, a statewide competition to see which community can demonstrate the greatest commitment to healthy living. Both CVC and the City of Lancaster are participating, with the latest rankings showing Cedar Valley ranked first in its category and Lancaster ranked second among cities in its category.
"CVC is supportive of the challenge because we want to promote healthy living among our students, faculty and staff," Brock said. "In the higher education category, we're ranked in points ahead of all other colleges and universities in the state, including UT-Austin. We encourage participation in the competition, which runs until March 31."
