Cedar Valley College Curriculum & Assessment Office will facilitate a journey to assist faculty with achieving two goals: a NILOA Coach visit, and the Excellence in Assessment Designation. More information and updates will be provided to faculty during Fall and Spring Faculty Return Week.

NILOA Coach Visit

To advance and accelerate campus initiatives to enhance student learning, the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) and Lumina Foundation offer a resource to improve student learning and assessment processes and practices—NILOA Coaches. Drawn from different types of institutions around the country, the Coaches are experienced faculty, administrators and staff who can assist with local-level implementation opportunities and challenges. The coach will be paired with the requesting institution based on a match of interests, intended outcomes, and expertise. If selected, then a NILOA Coaches will visit the campus for one day at no cost to the host institution.

Excellence in Assessment Designation

The Excellence in Assessment (EIA) designations are designed to recognize campuses that are successfully integrating assessment practices across campus to provide evidence of student learning outcomes that are representative of all students who attend their institution. The designation is intentionally built from the NILOA Transparency Framework.
