CVC Recycling Program

Photo of a recycling binCVC recycles paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, glass, cans. All items should be empty and clean before placing in recycle bins. Mega Bins recycling containers are located throughout the campus to collect these items. These bins are easily identified and labeled with the appropriate recycle items.

Cell Phone/Ink Cartridge Recycling

CVC collects old cell phones and ink cartridges on campus. These items are sent to Fundcycle as a fundraiser for the Student's Green Club which gives people everywhere a chance to help change lives by recycling used cell phones/PDAs and ink jet cartridges. Big Belly Solar Compactor

Photo of the Big Belly Solar Trash compactorThe Big Belly Trash compactor is the only solar trash compactor in the world and YES, IT IS MADE IN THE U.S.A. This compactor holds 5 times more trash than a traditional pedestrian trash container and is completely enclosed keeping pest and odors out and litter in. This product saves energy from the use of solar power. The unit is expected to reduce the need for trash pick up by 80% i.e. 1 pick up per week vs. 3, and we expect savings in gas and trash bags. The Big Belly will be located in the parking lot between S-1 and S-2. The compactor will be used in addition to the existing trash containers.
