Career assessment test
"Choices," a career assessment test administered through our center, assists students in choosing career paths. Free to existing students, the test takes approximately two hours to complete and is provided by appointment only.
Résumé evaluation and assistance
Our staff will help you write your résumé or critique your current résumé. In addition, we will provide you with the materials needed to make your résumé look professional in the current job market.
Updated job postings
We post job openings on a regular basis on our bulletin board, in notebooks and on Student Central - a job bank maintained by CVC and the Dallas County Community Colleges.
Career fairs
Cedar Valley offers two career fairs each year, one during the Fall semester and one in the Spring. Each fair features up to 40 employers who are always eager to meet with CVC students, alumni and community members.
Career counseling
Students who have concerns regarding employment can schedule an appointment with a certified career counselor.
Employment resources
We have a variety of books and videos that can help you in your job search.
Employment seminars
We offer free monthly seminars that will provide you with the inforation you need to aid you in the serach for your new career.
College and employer recruiters
College and employer recruiters frequent the CVC campus on a regular basis to meet and talk to students.

We post summer jobs and internship information on a regular basis.
Job search handouts
Topics covered; resume writing, interviewing , cover letters, local job hotlines, employment related internet addresses as well as other information.
JOB VIEW KIOSK - Through cooperation with the Career Planning and placement Center, The Dallas Morning News has Job View Kiosk located in "A" Building. Students can view and apply for jobs through the Dallas Morning News.
