Veterinary Assisting Certificate


The Veterinary Assisting Program is a 20-credit hour program leading to the award of a Certificate in Veterinary Assisting.  Ten hours are in general education courses and ten hours are within the major course of study.

General Education Courses
Elective in Humanities or Fine Arts (must be ENGL 1301 or SPCH 1311)
Elective in Natural Science and Math (must be TECM 1303 or MATH 1314)
BIOL 1406- General Biology

Veterinary Technology Courses

VTHT 1105- Veterinary Medical  Terminology   
VTHT 1401- Introduction to Veterinary Technology
VTHT 2201- Canine and Feline Clinical Management
VTHT 2321- Veterinary Clinical Pathology I

Applicants for the Veterinary Assisting Program must meet the general admission requirements as outlined in the Cedar Valley College Catalog.  You must submit a completed application to the Director of the Veterinary Technology Department as well as the Cedar Valley College application.  Acceptance and registration for courses are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
