Selection Process
Applicants will be selected for admission according to the following competitive ranking process:
- Applicants are listed by grade point average (GPA) on the four prerequisite courses from highest (i.e. 4.0) to lowest (2.0). A minimum of a 2.0 GPA is required on the four prerequisite courses.
- When two or more applicants have the same GPA, the total number of general education support courses are listed from highest number of credit hours completed (i.e. 23 hours) to lowest (i.e. 0 hours).
- When two or more applicants have the same GPA on the prerequisite courses and the same number of general education support course credit hours completed, the overall GPA on the required support courses is used to rank order applicants.
NOTE: Early submission of an application does not influence ranking for admission.

If four spaces were available for admission, applicants #1 through #4 would be accepted.
- Applicants may improve their ranking by: 1) repeating one or more of the four prerequisite courses to earn a higher prerequisite grade point average; 2) completing additional general education support courses hours; and 3) earning a high grade point average on the general education support courses.
- If the number of qualified applicants does not meet the number of available spaces, non-qualified applicants will be allowed to enroll in Veterinary Technology courses on a space available basis. First consideration will be given to those applicants with the highest GPA in the greatest number of prerequisite courses.
