A Message From Chief Stewart

Welcome to the Cedar Valley College Police Department's web site. We are excited to open up a new avenue of communication with the college community and our visitors. Our Internet presence reflects our department's Community Policing philosophy and our commitment to providing the best service possible.

The mission of the Cedar Valley College Police Department is to protect life and property within the Dallas County Community College District, to maintain a positive academic environment and to provide professional support services to the college community.

The responsibility for the overall direction and focus of law enforcement and crime prevention rests with the Office of the Chief of Police, Chief Tim Stewart.

For more visibility and officer approachability, the Cedar Valley College Police Department implemented the use of golf cart patrol. We are planning for implementation of additional community policing efforts in the near future. These projects include a "Campus Crime Watch" consisting of faculty and staff members who will assist the Police Department by reporting suspicious activity. These individuals will receive orientation training through the Police Department, including types of activity to look for and how to report it.

We hope you find our web site useful and informative. As special topics or problems arise, we will make that information available. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. I look forward to working together to create a safe and secure college environment.

Tim Stewart
Chief of Police
