Welcome to the Cedar Valley College's Counseling Services. We offer professional assistance to current students with personal, career and academic issues that may affect academic success and quality of life. Our counselors support student success in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere and help maintain a healthy campus learning environment.

Counseling services are FREE and available by appointment. We provide short-term personal counseling (3 to 5 sessions) and make referrals, when needed, for such concerns as:

  • Brief Solution-Focused Counseling for (anger, depression, anxiety, etc.)
  • Conflicted Life Choices
  • Death or Loss
  • Drug and Alcohol Abuse
  • Diversity Issues
  • Domestic Violence
  • Eating Disturbances
  • Family and Relationship Issues
  • Stress
  • Test Anxiety

Crisis Situations

If your emergency occurs ON CAMPUS during operational hours:

  1. Go to Counseling Services Office in Bldg. L, Room L108 or call 972-860-8119
  2. Speak to a Cedar Valley College employee and ask them to contact a CVC crisis counselor for you.
  3. Go to F120A (Campus Police) or use your cell phone to contact the Cedar Valley College Police 972-860-4290.

If your emergency occurs OFF CAMPUS and you are experiencing an actual mental health emergency and need immediate assistance call:

  1. 911, state you are having a mental health crisis
