CVC Strategic Plan
2005 - 2008


GOAL I - STUDENT SUCCESS

DCCCD Objective IA:Access and Retention- Our student body will reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and will progress academically.

CVC Objective IA(1) Implement an Enrollment Management Plan to address and resolve access and retention issues.

CVC Objective IA(2) Ensure that all disciplines achieve acceptable pass and retention rates.

CVC Objective IA(3) Ensure that CVC meets or exceeds state standards for access, retention and student success.

 

DCCCD Objective IB:College-Level Skills Attainment- Our students will master the mathematics, reading, and writing skills needed to participate successfully in college-level curricula.

CVC Objective IB(1) Ensure that students who are remediated achieve success.

 

DCCCD Objective IC:Graduation & Transfer- Our students will obtain the skills needed to meet area workforce needs and/or be academically prepared to pursue a baccalaureate degree.

CVC Objective IC(1) Ensure that all programs meet or exceed state standards for completers, employment and transfers.

 

DCCCE Objective ID:Adult Literacy- Our students will acquire basic literacy skills needed to live and function in our communities

CVC Objective ID(1) Offer GED & ESOL preparation to service area students.

CVC Objective ID(2) Develop a plan for expanding on-line instruction and creating a virtual college.


GOAL II - EMPLOYEE SUCCESS

DCCCD Objective IIA:Recruitment, Hiring, and Retention- Recruit, hire, and retain quality employees that reflect the diversity of students and communities we serve.

CVC Objective IIA(1) Gather baseline data on inclusiveness for all work groups.

CVC Objective IIA(2) Develop a plan to ensure that all hiring pools are inclusive.

DCCCD Objective IIB:  Development- Offer and evaluate professional and organizational development programs that enhance the effectiveness of individuals and the organization to continuously improve our services internally and externally.

CVC Objective IIB(1) Implement professional development curricula supporting the learning college concept for all employees.

CVC Objective IIB(2) Implement diversity training for all employees.

Objective IIB(3) Create a climate of fun connected with college learning.

Objective IIB(4) Provide regular management training for all supervisors.<
