Welcome Faculty Members

The staff of the Cedar Valley College Library is here to help you find and use information in both print and electronic form. This website gives you an overview of library services and resources. We want you to know what is available to you.

The Library staff offers services and resources to meet the informational and research needs of the college and to support members of the college community in the development of skills to be information literate and lifelong learners. Librarians offer a range of services including workshops, course-related instruction, and consultation services for students and faculty.

We are always interested in getting input from you about new services, online resources, and materials. If you would like to request new materials for the library, please contact a librarian.

Please do not assume that your students know how to use a computer. While a number of Cedar Valley College students have computers and use them regularly, many of our students have minimal computer skills. We feel that "Library Instruction" is essential to student success. Library instruction includes information on how to access online library resources from the  home or office. If you are offering distance education classes, you may also want to encourage the students to ask for assistance at the Cedar Valley College Library.

Library instruction can be tailored to your specific class needs. If you are interested, please contact the reference desk at 972-860-8140.
