GED PREPARATION I

GED PREPARATION II

This comprehensive class will provide a basic review of the knowledge and skills needed to pass the GED exam. Emphasis is placed on advanced reading comprehension and higher order thinking skills. Students will receive targeted practice exercises and test taking strategies in all 5 subject areas. Basic algebra and geometry will be introduced and continued emphasis on problem-solving math skills, including practice on the Casio FX260 calculator (used in taking the GED Math Test). Textbook required. Pre-GED and GED Prep I are Prerequisites for this class.

GED MATH PREPARATION

This GED math refresher course covers whole numbers, decimals, fractions, units of measure, ratios, percentages, algebraic expressions and signed numbers geometry. Test taking procedures will be practiced. Textbook required.

GED Reading Preparation

This 20-hour refresher course is for students that need help specifically with the Verbal parts of the GED exam. Instruction will focus on English literature, grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Textbook is required.

GED Writing Preparation

The GED Language Arts Writing test has two parts. This class will help prepare you for the essay writing portion as well as the sentence editing and revising. Topics covered will include organization, sentence structure, usage and mechanics. Textbook required.
