Who is eligible?

Any adult (18 years or older) without a high school diploma who is a resident of Texas and not enrolled in K-12 school is eligible to take the test.

A person who is 17-years-old is eligible if he or she is not enrolled in K-12 school, has Official Withdrawal form, and a signed Parental Consent form.

A person who is 16-years-old is only eligible if ordered by a municipal court.

*All eligible students must complete a online demographic form required by the Texas Education Agency prior to coming to GED orientation. A copy of the completed demographic form is requested at GED orientation. The demographic form can be accessed at www.utk16.org/scoring.
