What is the Title III Grant?

(Strengthening Institutions Program)

The Title III grant provides funding (1.9 million/5 years) and will allow us to work together on both classroom/teaching and learning initiative and student services/academic support services programs that are designed to improve student success. For example, learning communities, cooperative learning programs, supplemental instruction and a case management system are but only a few of the type of initiatives that are funded. Our Title III grant will allow us to continue the work that we have piloted with our Cedar Valley Achievers, a program that connects developmental students to an advisor, a Human Development course and tracking systems that allows us to learn more about and respond better to the needs of our students.
The Title III grant is designed to strengthen the institution and impact the following college challenges: rapidly increasing numbers of first time in college and developmental students, high drop-out rates and poor success rates in developmental and core courses, and inadequate services to provide students strategies for success.
